What We Do
NIRWN supports women in rural communities throughout Northern Ireland and is currently offering the following:

Presentations & Facilitated Discussions
NIRWN can provide and coordinate facilitated discussions on topics such as:

Information & Networking Events
NIRWN can provide themed networking opportunities for rural women.

Advocacy & Lobbying Training
NIRWN offers Training events on how to develop lobbying and advocacy skills and also acts as an advocate for rural women.

Women in Decision-making Roles
NIRWN will work with organisations and public bodies to increase rural women's representation and voice. NIRWN will support rural women to access those groups, organisations and public bodies in their locality where they feel they need a voice.

Mentoring & Training
NIRWN will offer training to those rural women who would like to take up Board positions but would feel they would like some training on e.g. how Boards and public bodies conduct their meetings etc. NIRWN will offer mentoring support for those rural women who hold positions on Boards and Public Bodies.

Capacity Building & Group Development
NIRWN can offer practical support to new and existing groups of women in rural areas. This support takes many forms including committee skills training, action planning and fundraising.

Policy Work
NIRWN can help you: make sense of existing policies and strategies that are relevant to your life; engage with and respond to appropriate consultations; support you to have a wider voice on issues of concern with; the local council, service deliverers, politicians, media and more.
